How can we create a different world from what remains the same? How can we transform the world we carry within us? Our inheritances remain active in the present. Idealized and frozen, they can replay the same patterns and deepen the impasse. Digested, they become springboards. Some may even hold futures that have yet to unfold. From Teva to Geography of Memory and Futur /ɛɡ.zo.se/ (future exhaussé or exaucé — elevated or fulfilled future), three exhibitions echo one another around the same question: what do we do with what constitutes us?
In the face of heat and the violence of today’s world, Teva rekindles the symbolism of Noah’s Ark as a place of protection, transformation and renewal. In stark contrast to Dante’s Inferno, where all possibility of metamorphosis has been extinguished, the Ark is only a temporary refuge, preparing the way for a return to the world. On view until 1 November 2026 in the gardens of the Fondation Villa Datris in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Teva invites each of us to preserve hope, the integrity of language, and the possibility of a repaired future.
On 15 May 2026, Teva will join the gardens of the Fondation Villa Datris in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for the exhibition Mediterranean, Contemporary Odysseys. Created in 2017 in Geneva, this immobile steel ark explores the notions of crossing, exile and rebirth. Between biblical memory, migration and the hope of a habitable world, Teva will remain on display there until 1 November 2026.
