In the face of heat and the violence of today’s world, Teva rekindles the symbolism of Noah’s Ark as a place of protection, transformation and renewal. In stark contrast to Dante’s Inferno, where all possibility of metamorphosis has been extinguished, the Ark is only a temporary refuge, preparing the way for a return to the world. On view until 1 November 2026 in the gardens of the Fondation Villa Datris in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Teva invites each of us to preserve hope, the integrity of language, and the possibility of a repaired future.

On 15 May 2026, Teva will join the gardens of the Fondation Villa Datris in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue for the exhibition Mediterranean, Contemporary Odysseys. Created in 2017 in Geneva, this immobile steel ark explores the notions of crossing, exile and rebirth. Between biblical memory, migration and the hope of a habitable world, Teva will remain on display there until 1 November 2026.

One could wonder what urgency there is to remember, to summon memory, but sometimes the past is combined with the present, history is falsified and the world fractures.

I set the scene to then let my thoughts wander in my next letters.

Geography of memory is the name of a piece of furniture, made of antic boxes and drawer, assembled in a heterogeneous construction to contain artworks-traces. Created in New York in 2016 for Call In, it represented the past in the beautiful raw space of the Chimney NYC.

A cocoon, a wooden family tree in the making, had been wrapped on the spot, in glass with Andrew Erdos and hung 6 meters from the ground in the center of the gallery, it was the place of gestation. The future was a projection of the video Renommée 2 on the ceiling just above the exit door.
