ArtGenève 2022 Géographie de la mémoire : The emergency
One could wonder what urgency there is to remember, to summon memory, but sometimes the past is combined with the present, history is falsified and the world fractures.
While I transfer onto the walls of the Geneva Art Fair my thread of thoughts, which carries within it recent stories of epidemics as well as of old wars but certainly not the new ones, which nevertheless reverberate in what I had written. The war thunders, it is no longer a question of memory but of projection.
In the chaos of the world and the madness of some who falsify history and want to take possession of the world, the ArtGenève fair is held. One might think futile a debauchery of art but there is never enough to tell the only truth: that of our senses. But since that is not enough and everyone has a responsibility to do what they can
We have, ArtGenève and I, decided to sell the Threads of Thought walls for the benefit of Ukraine. A wall has already been purchased. So I will go back to the generous donor’s home to rewrite the thread of my thoughts. Don’t hesitate to come forward if you too want to contribute, the needs are immense and urgent. I would then come to restore on your wall the wall or a section, which will also bear the trace of your solidarity and generosity
