Commissioned by the Contemporary Art Fund of Meyrin Switzerland, the installation takes the form of a boat as a projection of the nest, the idea of Noah’s ark – Teva in Hebrew – carrying on board all the species per couple, the ideals and the illusions. An ark washed up after the flood. A promise of a roof, a nest to rebuild and the fragility of the boat like a dream. A roof-boat where everything is reflected and first and foremost our projections. The nest-cocoon inside the boat, the only living thing, carries the promise of dreams. Maturation and growth space, matrix of what will hatch, it invites the visitor to question his changes of state. Dreams don’t touch, they live.

The Absence of Paths is a human performance staged across Venice which, for the duration of the Biennale, represents an idyllic microcosm of the world: a place where human beings can still move freely from nation to nation. This is represented in a physical travel document called Freesa, produced with the help of Veridos, a leader in producing secure identity documents for countries and businesses around the world. The debate extends beyond the physical space of Venice, thanks to an interactive online platform which will present text, video, audio, recipes and photographs collected from a wide range of thinkers, and will serve as a meeting point for visitors from around the world.
