Semaines fossiles
Series of 54 unique semaines fossiles (fossil weeks).
Born out of a reflection on responsibility and the passage of time, these glass fossils are each unique.
They are born together with prehistory and the origin of time. In the form of ginko fossil paving stones, they represent time as it renews itself, creating an illusion of continuity.
Red represents life and blue represents the divine.
The 54 weeks correspond to the Jewish calendar, which doubles the month of Adar every two years to bring the moon into harmony with the sun.
The series began in 2021 and will continue until all 54 weeks have been completed.
Each week bears the name of the portion of the Torah (Old Testament) that is read that week. The biblical text is reinterpreted year after year, shedding new light on words that might seem to follow one another as they are renewed.
