This is a self-portrait. This branch, barring those who survived, is part of the family tree “Memory” remembering those who perished during the Shoah but also the pogroms no long before. This branch, coming from the cemetery where my mother is buried is from a different essence than the family tree’s. To be alive, when all the other disappeared, needed a shift. In the “Memory” family tree, one of the six life lines’ trees, I burned the kaddish in the trunk to give a sepulture for those swallowed in the family pain and silence. The feathers are their souls accompanying us. #remember #memoire ##yomhashoah
